Job description

We're hiring an Information Manager at Balfour Beatty to join our Digital and Information Management team and play a key role in shaping the future of energy infrastructure.

You'll work on some of the UK's most ambitious power transmission and distribution projects, driving innovation in BIM, ISO 19650 compliance and digital delivery.

Role Purpose

Responsible for establishing governance and assuring data and information flow to and from the Common Data Environment (CDE). Reviewing Employer's Information Requirements (EIR) and producing and maintaining BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Information Management Plans and other related documents. The Information Manager will manage the CDE, ensuring all project information is available and up to date, encourage collaborative working and information exchange.

What You'll Be Doing

  • 70% Information Management, 10% Analysis, 20% Improvement.
  • Manage the Common Data Environment, ensuring all project information is available and up to date.
  • Lead BIM processes and support collaborative working across design and construction teams.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with industry standards.
  • Review and approve information produced by the Task Team against the task brief.
  • Owning the Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP) and ensuring correct execution.
  • Documenting and validating the Information Requirements with the lead Supplier's EIR(s)., * Creation and execution of the BEP and IMP.
  • Maintain and support task teams with MIDP and TIDP.
  • Manage and communicate the processes and procedures for information exchange on projects.
  • Report and communicate progress of information (development & exchange) as defined in the IMP.
  • Attend all project meetings where necessary.
  • Provide coaching / assistance on the implementation of the chosen CDE.

Requirements

  • BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng, HND / HDC or qualified by experience with an understanding and proven delivery of infrastructure or building managing multiple processes / schemes.

  • NVQ - Level 5 or 2-5 years project / industry experience.

  • Knowledge of ISO 19650 series guidelines for Information Management.

  • Strong communication skills (spoken & written) to build relationships with stakeholders.

  • Strong technical ability with digital software applications.

  • Experience training others.

  • Analytical experience.

  • Ability to work under time pressure and collaborate with project teams, supply chain partners and customer.

  • Willingness to learn, develop and support members of the digital team. Qualifications (Desirable)

  • Professional membership.

  • Autodesk application experience.

  • GIS application experience.

  • Strong Excel and / or Power BI capability.

  • Power infrastructure experience.
