Job description

The OSS Operations team of technology professionals manage and effectively operate the systems within the Converged Network arena. We are looking for a dynamic & proactive individual who can drive the digital initiatives to support the increasing demand for automation and transformation activities within Technology operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality OSS into Operations in conjunction with delivery teams, providing subject matter expertise and service ownership in one or more key OSS driving operational improvement and leading colleagues in high performing operational teams. The ambition being to drive a step change in Digital, customer service centric OSS Operations. This role requires detailed understanding of the OSS applications stack, architecture and support environment, coupled with an understanding of DevOps practices and Agile methodology as well as the ITIL framework.

The role will:

  • Continue to build on the OSS Automation Framework and drive towards a DevOps model
  • Enable our customers through automations and self-service capabilities
  • Develop Service Improvement Plans internally and in conjunction with customers and delivery teams and ensure they are driven through to completion with internal teams or 3rd party suppliers
  • Through Continuous Improvement (CI) projects, be able to show an upward trend in service levels and a reduction in faults.
  • Manage (internal and external) customers' expectations
  • Actively encourage team collaboration across OSS, the wider technology teams and externally within the business, adopting and delivering to industry best practices.
  • Manage suppliers to ensure they are delivering a service that at a minimum adheres to the support contracts in place, and more often to exceed their service levels.
  • Ensuring that the support model fits within the agreed budget strategy

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, * Extensive knowledge of OSS Operations

  • Subject Matter Expertise in at least one OSS in particular Remedy and Cramer
  • Experience working with coding and query languages - preferably inc. Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible (YAML), SQL, MySQL, etc.
  • Experience working with code versioning repositories - preferably GIT
  • Working understanding of Mobile & Fixed Networks
  • Ability to influence, negotiate with and persuade internal and external customers.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers/senior stakeholders at all levels in the organisation,
  • Sound MS Office skills (with strong ability in Excel)
  • Developed Analytical Skills
  • Eligibility to hold UK SC Clearance
