Job description
We are a direct supplier seeking an experienced SC Cleared Senior Network Engineer with strong Proxy, Firewall, Switching and Routing expertise to support a secure UK programme. This role focuses on project delivery across Proxy, LAN, WAN and Security technologies within a complex multi-vendor environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver project-based engineering across Proxy, LAN, WAN, Firewall and Security platforms
- Configure and implement changes on routers, switches, firewalls and security appliances
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues in secure enterprise environments
- Maintain and upgrade network components and infrastructure
- Produce and update network documentation, diagrams and technical artefacts
- Support design and collaborate with senior engineers and architects
- Mentor junior engineers and lead technical escalations
Essential Skills & Experience
- 5-10 years experience as a Network Engineer in large-scale, secure, multi-vendor environments
- Strong expertise in Proxy technologies: Broadcom/Symantec, Netskope
- Advanced Cisco LAN/WAN experience (CCNP level or equivalent)
- Aruba LAN experience (Aruba ACP level or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience with Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewalls
- Strong routing knowledge: OSPF, BGP, iBGP
- PKI, SSL certificates, and browser configuration knowledge
- Understanding of Layer 7, end-to-end application flows
- Experience with structured cabling in enterprise environments
- Must hold Active SC Clearance
Desirable
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
- CCNA/CCNP or equivalent professional certifications
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in demanding environments
- Willingness to support occasional out-of-hours work
