Job description
The Network Analyst is a critical member of the IT Infrastructure team, responsible for the design, implementation, management, and support of the organisation's network infrastructure. This includes a strong focus on modern network technologies such as firewalls, SD-WAN, proxies, and related security solutions, ensuring the organisation's digital operations remain robust, secure, and highly available.
Main Responsibilities
· Network Operations:
o Monitor, maintain, and optimise the performance of the enterprise network, including LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN environments.
· Firewall Management:
o Configure, manage, and troubleshoot next-generation firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco Firepower), applying security policies and monitoring for threats or unauthorised access.
· SD-WAN Administration:
o Deploy, configure, and support SD-WAN solutions to improve network resilience, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness across multiple sites.
· Proxy and Web Security:
o Operate and maintain web proxy solutions (e.g., Zscaler, Blue Coat, or Cisco Umbrella) for secure internet access, content filtering, and user protection.
· Incident Response:
o Investigate and resolve network incidents, working closely with the Cyber Security team to respond to threats and vulnerabilities.
· Network Design and Projects:
o Participate in network design activities for new initiatives, upgrades, and migrations, ensuring alignment with the organisation's architecture and compliance requirements.
· Documentation and Compliance:
o Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and operational procedures, supporting regulatory compliance and internal standards.
· Vendor Management:
o Liaise with network vendors and managed service providers to resolve escalated issues and evaluate new technologies.
Key Technologies and Tools
· Enterprise firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco Firepower)
· SD-WAN solutions (e.g., Cisco Viptela, Silver Peak, or Aruba EdgeConnect)
· Web proxies (e.g., Zscaler, Blue Coat, Cisco Umbrella)
· Network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG)
· Routing and switching (Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent)
· VPN and remote access solutions
· Change management and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy)
Requirements
Do you have experience in VPN?, · Proven experience supporting enterprise networks, preferably within financial services or highly regulated environments.
· In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security principles.
· Hands-on expertise with firewalls, SD-WAN, and proxy technologies as deployed within the organisation.
· Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex network issues efficiently.
· Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to the financial sector (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR).
· Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, NSE, PCNSE, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
