The Marketing and External Engagement Directorate drives the University's reputation, recruitment, and community engagement. We champion innovation, creativity, and collaboration, ensuring everything we produce is engaging, authentic, and on brand. Join a supportive team where no two days are the same and where your creative ideas can shine.

About the role

As part of our Brand and Content team, you'll play a central role in creating sector-leading content that elevates the University's brand and resonates with key audiences throughout the recruitment cycle.

Working closely with the Brand and Content Manager and colleagues across the Marketing and External Engagement Directorate, you will be responsible for producing innovative, high-quality multimedia content that brings the best of the University of Gloucestershire to life.

You'll capture compelling video and photography, support the development of content strategies, and ensure all materials align with our brand guidelines. This is a fast-paced, creative role - ideal for someone with strong production skills, excellent storytelling ability, and a passion for engaging digital content.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Capture sector-leading video and photography for social media, the website, campaign materials and other marketing platforms.
  • Keep up to date with the latest social media trends, features, audio and content formats.
  • Work with the Brand and Content Manager and Social Media Marketing Officer to develop impactful content strategies.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to translate strategy into detailed operational plans.
  • Build relationships with colleagues across the university to stay informed about key recruitment cycle activities.
  • Manage multiple creative projects in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality content to tight deadlines.
  • Produce content that meets University of Gloucestershire brand guidelines.
  • Support the marketing team with copywriting for campaigns and collateral when required.
  • Source and develop case studies across UG, PG and International audiences.
  • Report on content performance and insights on a regular and ad hoc basis.
  • Capture video and photography at key recruitment events including open days and fairs.
  • Co-manage and optimise the University's YouTube channel.
  • Support student recruitment events across the year, including clearing activity.

Requirements

  • A degree or relevant professional experience.
  • Experience capturing high-quality photos and video using DSLR cameras (or comparable equipment).
  • Excellent narrative skills, with the ability to develop shot lists, scripts, storyboards and production plans.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator).
  • Experience using third-party social media editing apps such as CapCut, and platform-native tools for TikTok and Instagram.
  • Skilled with production equipment and comfortable working across multiple formats.
  • An understanding of and commitment to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion.
