Job description
As the Lead Business Architect, Data Management & Governance, you will play a critical role in defining and driving the enterprise's data management strategy and governance framework. In this position, you will bridge business objectives with data capabilities, ensuring that data is treated as a strategic asset. You will collaborate closely with business leaders, data governance specialists, technology teams, and compliance stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain effective data management and governance solutions. Your work will enable trusted, high-quality, and compliant data for decision-making, empowering the organization to achieve its strategic goals.
This position has a hybrid setup with approximately 2-3 days per week on site.
This position can be filled in Ingelheim or Biberach.
This position is part time eligible with 80 %.
Tasks & responsibilities
- In this role, you will align the business architecture with the overall IT landscape, business organization, and support services to ensure seamless integration.
- Collaborating with IT and business functions, you will define the benefits of various IT solutions, evaluate their advantages and disadvantages, and present proposals with cost analyses.
- Your responsibilities include developing and maintaining data governance operating models, business processes, and policies while ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and regulatory requirements.
- By partnering with compliance, risk, and legal teams, you will ensure adherence to data privacy, security, and regulatory obligations such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
- Acting as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, you will translate business requirements into effective data management capabilities.
- Leading cross-functional forums and data governance councils, you will drive decision-making, accountability, and the adoption of governance tools and best practices.
- You identify opportunities to improve data quality, accessibility, and usability across business domains while mentoring data stewards, business analysts, and junior architects.
Requirements
Do you have experience in TOGAF?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Master's degree in Computer Science or a comparable related qualification
- Knowledge of the TOGAF standard or other comparable methodologies
- Long term experience in business architecture, enterprise data management, or data governance roles preferably within the pharmaceutical industry
- Proven experience driving enterprise-wide data governance and management initiatives, including expertise in frameworks, policies, and operating models
- Strong knowledge of data management principles (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM), governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Axon), and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
- Ability to design business architecture artifacts, solve complex problems, and think critically to align business and IT functions effectively
- Exceptional stakeholder management, facilitation, and mentoring skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and executives
- Excellent English skills, both written and spoken
