Job description

The Systems V&V engineer playes a crucial part in ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of complex systems through structured verification and validation activities. You will be responsible for translating risks into effective test strategies, delivering test plans, and driving defect resolution in collaboration with multi-functional teams. A key part of your role is to develop and maintain test automation solutions using industry-standard tools to improve efficiency, repeatability, and coverage of system-level testing., BD Diagnostic Solutions is a division of BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), a global medical technology leader dedicated to advancing the world of health. Through innovations in microbiology, molecular diagnostics and point-of-care devices and assays, BD Diagnostic Solutions supports customers around the world, whether in high-throughput laboratories or community healthcare clinics, in hospitals or at-home, in delivering better outcomes for patients., The Systems Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of complex systems through structured testing and validation processes. This position focuses on translating identified risks into actionable test strategies, creating detailed test plans, and driving defect resolution in collaboration with cross-functional teams. By leveraging both manual and automated testing approaches, the engineer ensures that system functionality and performance meet stringent requirements throughout the development lifecycle.

In addition to executing comprehensive test cases, the role emphasizes efficiency and scalability through the development and maintenance of automated test solutions using industry-standard tools. Responsibilities include conducting risk and impact assessments, organizing defect review meetings, and maintaining a robust test environment that mirrors real-world conditions. Through meticulous documentation and proactive communication, the Systems V&V Engineer provides clear visibility into test progress and outcomes, ultimately safeguarding system integrity and user confidence.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in risk and impact assessments to identify potential system vulnerabilities.
  • Translate identified risks into a comprehensive and executable test strategy.
  • Estimate and plan verification and validation activities across the development lifecycle.
  • Specify detailed and traceable test cases based on system requirements and risk analysis.
  • Implement manual and automated test cases to verify system functionality and performance.
  • Document test results, findings, and defects in a clear and structured manner.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve test efficiency and coverage.
  • Organize and lead defect review meetings with relevant team members.
  • Provide timely updates on test progress, defect status, and overall V&V activities.
  • Define and maintain the test environment, ensuring it reflects the intended use conditions.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Scrum?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience, will also be accepted.

  • Certified in ISTQB (preferably beyond Foundation level)
  • or TMap
  • Several years of experience working in SAFe, Scrum and/or Agile environments
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
  • Shown experience in system-level testing, preferably in a regulated or high-tech environment.
  • Experience with ISO 13485 or similar standards is a plus
  • Familiarity with risk-based testing methodologies and test automation tools
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detailed and focused approach.
  • Proactive and structured approach to planning and execution.
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Salary or hourly rate ranges have been implemented to reward associates fairly and competitively, as well as to support recognition of associates' progress, ranging from entry level to experts in their field, and talent mobility. There are many factors, such as location, that contribute to the range displayed.

The salary or hourly rate offered to a successful candidate is determined by their experience, education, and skills, as well as the labor laws and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) requirements applicable to the work location.

Salary Range Information €56,900.00 - €96,700.00 EUR Annual
