The Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit (NCTU) are recruiting for Database Systems Developer. You will report to the Senior Systems Manager. Your role will be to build, validate and maintain databases used by the NCTU to run clinical trials. These are built using REDCap, and experience of creating web based databases and skills in SQL, PHP and JavaScript are essential. Excellent communication skills, especially with written English are also required. Candidates can access the role profile for the full information., * Agile working: This role can either be fully office-based or open to a hybrid working model with a blended approach of home and office working. Typically, you will work a minimum of 2-3 days (pro-rata) per week on campus.

Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week). However, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours.
This post is offered on a fixed-term contract until 29/02/2028. Job share arrangements may also be considered.
Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
Requirements
- You must have experience in setting up and maintaining mulit-user web based systems for data capture with a database backend.
- You must have the ability to interrogate relational databases and be proficient in writing SQL.
- You must have the ability to program using PHP and JavaScript.
- You must have good team working skills
- You must be an effective communicator, with excellent English writing skills.
