Job description
As a Senior UX & UI Designer at Farnell, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience and visual design of our digital products. You will work in multiple Agile Squads and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and researchers, to create intuitive, visually appealing, and user-centred solutions. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of user behaviour., * User Research: Conduct user research to gain insights into user behaviours, needs, and pain points. Translate findings into actionable design strategies.
- Information Architecture: Develop and maintain a clear information architecture that optimizes the organization and accessibility of content and features.
- Wireframing and Prototyping: Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and user flows to effectively communicate design concepts and interactions.
- Visual Design: Develop visually stunning, consistent, and responsive user interfaces that align with our brand guidelines and usability principles.
- Design System Governance: Establish and enforce design system governance principles, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices across all design work.
- Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability tests to gather user feedback, identify usability issues, and refine designs accordingly.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Mentorship: Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers, fostering their growth and skill development.
- Stay Current: Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve and innovate in the field.
Requirements
Do you have experience in User research?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Design or HND.
- 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools e.g., Figma (preferred), Sketch, XD, etc .
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Experience with user research techniques, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
- Proven track record of designing successful digital products or applications.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Portfolio showcasing a range of UX/UI design projects and problem-solving skills
