At Jam Coding, we deliver fun, engaging sessions that help children build confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills through digital learning. We are expanding our delivery across Wolverhampton and are looking for a reliable and capable Code Coach to join our team.
This is a varied role combining after-school clubs with our Computing Labs programme - structured, curriculum-led sessions delivered outside of school hours.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll deliver a mix of:
After School Clubs
- 1-hour to 90 minute sessions delivered in primary schools
- Fun, engaging activities using coding, gaming, and creativity
Computing Labs (from September)
- Structured sessions following our bespoke curriculum
- Typically delivered on Saturday mornings (from 9:00am)
- Focused on building real digital skills over time
Your Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality computing and coding sessions
- Explain basic programming concepts in a clear and engaging way
- Create a safe, positive, and well-managed learning environment
- Confidently manage groups of children of varying abilities
- Act as a professional representative of Jam Coding
You will regularly interact with:
- Children (leading sessions and supporting learning)
- Parents (before/after sessions)
- Schools and venues (professional communication), Working Hours
- After-school clubs: 1 hour to 90 minute sessions after the school day (term time)
- Computing Labs: Saturday mornings (from September, approx. 9:00am start)
- Additional hours available during school holidays
Availability for Saturday morning sessions will be important as this programme grows.

Important Information
- This is a part-time role, not full-time initially
- Hours will build over time as more sessions are secured
- You will be expected to work independently and take ownership of your sessions

About Jam Coding
Jam Coding helps children develop confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills through technology. Our sessions include coding, animation, game design, robotics, and digital learning - delivered through a structured and engaging curriculum.
Requirements
- Reliable, punctual, and well-organised
- Confident communicator with both children and adults
- Comfortable leading and managing groups
- Good working knowledge of computers and digital technology
- Ability to understand and explain basic coding concepts
- Flexible availability (after school hours and some Saturdays)
- Able to travel locally
Desirable:
- Experience working with children (schools, clubs, coaching, etc.)
- Experience with coding tools (e.g. Scratch, Minecraft Education, etc.)
- Experience dealing with parents or customers
- Teaching, childcare, or TA qualification
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, * Please briefly describe your experience working with children, including the age groups and setting (e.g. school, club, coaching).
