Job description
AMD is looking for a productization software engineering lead who is passionate about improving the AMD's gaming graphics technology stack You will lead a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology., * Manage and direct a team of experienced games/graphics engineers.
- Define and manage project schedules and deliverables
- Work closely with research engineers to transform proof-of-concept prototypes into mature products at a very high level of quality.
- Collaborate with external game development partners to integrate these technologies into their titles.
- Optimize, extend, package and document high-level compute shader and C++ code.
- Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to algorithms and architecture
- Debugging/fix existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work
- Develop technical relationships with peers and partners, AMD may use Artificial Intelligence to help screen, assess or select applicants for this position. AMD's "Responsible AI Policy" is available here.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to realize the full potential of breakthrough and emerging technologies. You must be able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD and knit together information from a range of specialist domains. A strong technical background in GPU/APU programming, C++, and machine learning is needed while also having a significant influence over the technical direction, and the opportunity to start from first principles on new projects., * Computer science background with advanced years of full-time experience writing efficient, modern C++ and high-level shader code (HLSL SM6, GLSL, Slang, etc)
- Motivating leader with good interpersonal skills
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of real-time rendering and graphics algorithms as used in AAA games.
- Highly organized and experienced at planning development schedules, including adapting to changing requirements
- Extensive experience shipping AAA games & game-engines or middleware.
- Excellent written and verbal English skills.
- Willing to occasionally travel, both domestically and internationally., * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
