  • Developing and maintaining system security baseline documentation.
  • Supporting integration with SIEM and protective monitoring platforms.
  • Assessing vulnerabilities and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Supporting the implementation of secure designs and technical architectures.
  • Collaborating with engineers and architects to ensure secure solution delivery.
  • Supporting ongoing security test and verification (ST&V) activities.
  • Contributing to security processes, policies and governance aligned with programme requirements.

Requirements

You'll be an experienced Cyber Security Engineer comfortable operating in complex and highly secure environments, with a broad understanding of enterprise security technologies and frameworks. Essential experience includes:

  • Experience implementing defence-in-depth security architectures aligned with frameworks such as CIS, NIST CSF and MOD security standards.
  • Hands-on experience implementing preventative and detective security controls.
  • Strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle within secure delivery environments.
  • Experience working within structured delivery methodologies including Agile, DevOps or waterfall.
  • Experience assessing vulnerabilities and implementing security mitigation strategies.
  • Strong understanding of CIA principles (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability).

Technical experience across:

  • Endpoint protection technologies including malware protection, application control and DLP.
  • Microsoft and Linux operating systems in secure environments.
  • Virtualisation platforms and network infrastructure components.
  • SIEM platforms and protective monitoring solutions.
  • Authentication and identity technologies including SAML, LDAP and PKI.
  • Network security technologies including firewalls, proxies and boundary protection.
  • Experience supporting security infrastructure in hybrid cloud environments.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with MOD or Defence Digital standards and environments.
  • Familiarity with security accreditation processes for secure systems.

Benefits & conditions

  • Minimum 6-month contract with strong likelihood of extension.
  • Opportunity to work within a highly secure Defence programme.
  • Exposure to enterprise security tooling and complex infrastructure environments.
