Job description

SUMMARY: Reporting to the Vice President of Information and Digital Strategy, this position is a hands-on role responsible for day-to-day IT operations, user support, and coordination with our external IT partner. This role will help shape how technology supports our staff and the individuals we serve., * Serve as the primary internal IT contact for staff across multiple locations

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and user access issues
  • Support Windows workstations, printers, mobile devices, and basic network connectivity
  • Assist with Microsoft 365 administration (accounts, permissions, troubleshooting)

Vendor Coordination & Escalation

  • Work closely with our external IT provider (Computer Consultants) for escalations and projects
  • Help prioritize and track tickets to ensure timely resolution
  • Act as the bridge between staff needs and technical solutions

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to workflows and systems
  • Help standardize onboarding/offboarding processes in partnership with HR
  • Assist with implementation of tools like SharePoint, ticketing systems, and cloud services
  • Document solutions and build internal knowledge resources

Project Support

  • Assist with technology upgrades, device rollouts, and system migrations
  • Support initiatives to improve remote access, mobile workforce tools, and collaboration

Work Environment:

· This position is based on Palm Desert site but requires some driving and travel between local sites in Indio and Yucca Valley. This position requires a combination of desk work and hands-on technical support.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

a. The employee must have the ability to frequently lift/move, pull, push, 25-50lbs of equipment, run and manipulate/use adaptive equipment, which requires strength and gross motor and fine motor coordination. The position requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time and performing tasks requiring manual dexterity (typing, cabling). Demands include bending, kneeling, stooping, and crawling, working under desks or in tight server spaces. The position requires the ability to operate an automobile and a computer. High level of hand-eye coordination for handling tools, replacing components, and constant keyboarding. Occasional work in noisy areas, confined rooms or elevated spaces/ladders. The employee must be able to climb ladders/stairs. The employee must be able to perform CPR and administer First Aid. Environment will have constant interruptions.

Note duties are subject to change due to agency growth or restructure. Daily operations are also subject to change based on outcome measurements of systems incorporated to program operations.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Minimum of three (3) years experience in IT Operations is preferred

  • Experience supporting Windows environments (desktop and basic server concepts)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint basics)
  • Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, Wi-Fi, troubleshooting connectivity issues)
  • Experience with common business applications (e.g., QuickBooks, HRIS systems) is a plus

· Valid California Driver License with clean DMV record and Clear Background Check

· Valid personal vehicle insurance and proof of vehicle registration

· First Aid and CPR Certification (Training may be provided by Desert Arc)

· College degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, strongly preferred.

  • Experience working with an MSP or coordinating with external IT vendors, preferred
  • Exposure to cybersecurity best practices (MFA, endpoint protection, user training), preferred
  • Familiarity with VoIP systems, Wi-Fi infrastructure, or mobile device management, preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Comfortable using tools and software like documentation, forums, YouTube, or AI tools to solve problems
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical staff
  • Great customer service and interpersonal skills
