Job description
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to lead the automation of our hybrid infrastructure in our office in Valencia, Spain. You will be responsible for managing a diverse environment that includes both AWS cloud services and on-premise bare-metal servers. A significant part of this role involves evolving our database operations-moving away from manual tasks toward a fully automated, scalable, and observable data platform., Hybrid Infrastructure Management: Design and maintain IaC for both AWS (RDS, EC2) and physical bare-metal servers using Terraform/Terragrunt and Ansible. Advanced Automation & Scripting: Develop custom tools and scripts (using Python or Go) to automate complex workflows that off-the-shelf tools can't handle. Database Lifecycle Automation: Automate provisioning, configuration tuning, and schema migrations. Work closely with DBAs to eliminate manual toil through code. Observability: Build and maintain high-fidelity monitoring for databases and system health using the Prometheus stack. Security & Compliance: Centralize secret management and access control using HashiCorp Vault. Knowledge Sharing: Act as a subject matter expert, documentation enthusiast, and mentor for the team as we evolve our infrastructure practices. Technical Requirements
Requirements
Experience: 3+ years in DevOps/SRE with a focus on infrastructure automation. Hybrid Ops: Proven experience managing both Cloud (AWS) and On-prem (Linux bare-metal) environments. Tooling: Expert-level knowledge of Ansible and Terraform/Terragrunt. Development Skills: Strong proficiency in Python or Go for infrastructure scripting and internal tooling. Linux Internals: Deep understanding of Linux systems, disk I/O optimization, and networking. Nice to Have (The "Extra Mile"):
Kubernetes (K8s) Expert: Hands-on experience with K8s (EKS or self-managed). Databases in K8s: Experience (or a strong desire to lead the transition) of running stateful workloads (Databases) inside Kubernetes using Operators or Helm. Mentorship: A passion for teaching and sharing K8s/Automation best practices with colleagues to level up the entire team. What We Offer
