Customer Segmentation: Design and build a customer segmentation model that synthesizes behavioral, transactional, and demographic data across various customer and user datasets Translate model outputs into actionable audience profiles and cohorts that can be operationalized by marketing and digital efforts Maintain and iterate on segmentation as audience strategy evolves over time Growth Opportunity Sizing: Analyze patterns across the customer lifecycle (awareness, acquisition, engagement, lapse, and reactivation) to surface opportunities for audience and revenue growth Partner with stakeholders across Retail, Digital, and Marketing to frame business questions and deliver data-driven recommendations on pricing, experience, product, and communication strategies Perform market gap analyses to identify untapped opportunities as they relate to segmented customer performance Build dashboards and reports that make key metrics accessible to non-technical partners A/B Testing & Experimentation: Design and implement a rigorous experimentation framework for testing marketing campaigns, digital experiences, and activation offers Define success metrics, calculate sample sizes, and ensure statistical validity of all tests Communicate results clearly to leadership and translate findings into clear recommendations
Requirements
3 5+ years of experience in a data science role Proficiency in Python or R, and SQL Hands-on experience building segmentation models (e.g., clustering, RFM analysis) and running A/B tests Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences Strong understanding of statistical inference and experimental design A collaborative, low-ego working style and a genuine interest in how data can serve a cultural mission Preferred: Deep familiarity with customer data - ideally spanning retail, membership, and/or a museum or nonprofit context - and a nuanced understanding of how customer behavior differs across these verticals Experience with BigQuery/Google Cloud Platform Experience with dbt, dataform, or similar data transformation tools.
