Job description
- Contribute to core tools and infrastructure for LLM research, driving major efforts across internal and external codebases to optimize and add new research capabilities.
- Develop software to launch Gemmaverse open models publicly, ensuring they perform excellently and intuitively across various 3P technical stacks and devices (e.g., servers, laptops, phones).
- Serve as a technical expert for external open-model systems (e.g., HuggingFace, Ollama, Keras) to drive high satisfaction and enablement for the external user community.
- Collaborate with researchers, applied partners, and external engineers (e.g., Vlmm) to contribute to the broader AI ecosystem, including PyTorch, Jax, Gemini, and Gemax.
- Create documentation and tutorials for audiences, including Googlers and external researchers, to help users successfully adopt Gemma variants and technical artifacts.

Requirements
Do you have experience in System architecture design?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- 2 years of experience with Python, PyTorch, JAX, LLM datasets/benchmarks/metrics, etc., * Master's degree or PhD.
- Knowledge of proactive problem-solving, with the ability to independently identify hidden issues, take full ownership of solutions, and drive team impact.
- Understanding of iterative development and eagerness to openly share and refine ideas.
- Ability to rapidly learn unfamiliar domains.
- Strong collaborative skills, specifically in pair programming, joint debugging, and interactive brainstorming.
