JDynamic Sales Solutions are a growing website design, development and hosting company based in Gloucester, and we are looking for a reliable and experienced Website Support & Developer to join our remote team.
This role combines technical website support, hosting management and website development work across a wide range of client websites and hosting environments.
We are looking for someone dependable, security-conscious and technically capable, who can support our internal team with both day-to-day technical tasks and occasional urgent support when required.
Working Arrangement
This is a flexible, remote, ad-hoc support role rather than a fixed-hours position.
Work will be provided on an as-needed basis depending on client requirements, technical support requests, development tasks and occasional urgent issues that may arise.
Some weeks may require more involvement than others, whilst at other times support requirements may be minimal.
We are therefore looking for someone flexible, dependable and responsive who is comfortable working on an ad-hoc basis and becoming a trusted technical support partner for our business.
This role would suit a freelance developer, technical support specialist or someone already working independently who is looking for ongoing project and support work alongside existing commitments.
Working Hours & Response Expectations
As this is an ad-hoc support role, there are no guaranteed set hours.
However, we would generally expect availability for support requests between:
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00am to 5:00pm
Outside of these hours, emergency support requirements are very infrequent and would only relate to genuine critical issues affecting website availability, hosting services, email systems or security.
This is not a 24/7 support role, and out-of-hours requests would be rare and only for urgent technical emergencies.
We value reliability, communication and responsiveness during urgent situations whilst also respecting realistic work-life balance expectations.
Technical Support & Hosting Responsibilities
You will assist with the technical management and support of our hosting and website infrastructure, including:
- Troubleshooting website, hosting and email-related issues
- Supporting website uptime and resolving technical faults
- Assisting with hosting migrations and onboarding websites onto our hosting platform
- Managing domains, DNS records, SSL certificates and hosting settings
- Providing technical assistance for website-related support tickets
- Assisting with backups, malware/security checks and recovery procedures
- Helping maintain the security and stability of hosting environments
- Monitoring and responding to urgent technical issues when escalated
- Liaising with our internal team regarding customer support requirements
Website Developer Responsibilities
Alongside technical support duties, the successful candidate must also be comfortable carrying out website development work and implementing fixes or updates for clients.
This includes:
- Building and editing websites using WordPress and Joomla
- Working confidently with Divi and Elementor
- Implementing website fixes, layout adjustments and functionality improvements
- Troubleshooting plugin, theme and CMS-related issues
- Supporting responsive/mobile-friendly website development
- Assisting with website speed, optimisation and security improvements
- Updating and maintaining existing customer websites
Requirements
Do you have experience in WordPress?, * Strong experience with website hosting platforms and control panels
- Solid understanding of hosting, domains, DNS, email routing and SSL certificates
- Strong WordPress experience
- Good working knowledge of Joomla
- Experience building websites using Divi and Elementor
- Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Good understanding of website security best practices
- Experience with website migrations and server-side troubleshooting
- Strong communication and organisational skills - you will sometimes be liaising with our clients directly
- Ability to work independently and respond calmly under pressure
Security & Confidentiality
Due to the nature of this role, security and confidentiality are extremely important.
The successful candidate must:
- Follow strict security procedures and best practices
- Use secure devices, passwords and authentication methods
- Maintain confidentiality when accessing company systems and client platforms
- Be comfortable working within secure hosting and account management environments
- Understand the importance of protecting client data and infrastructure
- Have a good client communication skills and liaise as you are part of our team, not a contractor
Desirable
- Experience with WHM/cPanel, Plesk or Cloud hosting platforms
- Knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Experience with website performance optimisation
- Familiarity with server security, firewalls and malware prevention
- Experience working within an agency or hosting environment
