Job description
This position exists to contribute to the development of custom software applications within the Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). Responsibilities include maintenance and enhancement of the Work Comp Campus system, a cloud hosted, serverless platform, custom built application based on modern development techniques, methodologies, and technologies for the Department. No budgetary authority, however, the employee's work impacts budgets throughout MNIT and DLI., * Experience working with SQL databases and data reporting tools such as SSRS or Power BI.
- Experience developing full stack applications using Angular, Angular Material, Bootstrap, C#, and .NET Core.
- Experience with Azure cloud services, including Azure Functions and serverless architecture, DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or Confluence to manage development work and track issues and GitHub., It is the policy of Minnesota IT Services that a successful candidate must pass all legally required checks prior to employment which may consist of the following:

Requirements
Do you have experience in Web services design?, Do you have a Master's degree?, This position requires an employee to be onsite at 443 Lafayette Rd, St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Telework for Minnesota IT Services is available on a limited basis. Employees will be required to meet current telework eligibility requirements., To qualify, candidates must clearly show all of the following qualifications in their resume. Resume tips available here: Position requires a minimum of three (3) years of IT related experience in custom software application development.
- Experience developing and maintaining web-based applications using modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., C#, .NET Core, Angular).C# and .NET (Core/ASP.NET) for enterprise services and web APIs; familiarity with dependency injection, async/await, and layered architecture. (Aligned to the .NET / C# stack.))
- Building and consuming RESTful/JSON services; designing robust integration points that work in concert with Azure Data Factory pipelines and batch interfaces.
- Azure DevOps/Git (or equivalent) for CI/CD, branching, code reviews; automated testing (unit, integration), static analysis, and release hardening suitable for XL-scale systems.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including testing, security, and accessibility standards; experience in test-driven development; and experience working with a cross-functional agile team.
- Experience working with cloud-based or serverless application platforms (e.g., Azure or similar environments); ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues through code review, testing, and system monitoring tools; and strong communication and collaboration skills sufficient to work effectively with technical teams, stakeholders, and business partners.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding.
- Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences.
Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT related field may substitute for experience as follows: a master's degree for eighteen (18) months of experience; a bachelor's degree for one (1) year; and an associate's degree for six (6) months., * Experience supporting application monitoring, logging, and performance tuning using tools such as Application Insights.
- Knowledge of Agile development practices and experience working in an Agile team environment.
- Experience using AI to support development, testing, and DevOps processes.
- Demonstrated ability to identify vulnerabilities and support remediation efforts, including participation in security or compliance activities.
