Job Title: Solution Architect (Spanish Accounting & Compliance)

Job Description

This role focuses on defining and shaping accounting and compliance solutions for the Spanish market within an API-driven accounting platform. You will ensure that solution designs align with Spanish accounting standards, VAT and statutory reporting requirements, and established integration patterns, while collaborating closely with product and engineering teams in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Translate Spanish accounting and compliance requirements into clear, functional solution designs.
  • Define detailed mapping rules for chart of accounts alignment to Spanish standards, including transaction classification and reporting logic.
  • Support the design of accountant-controlled workflows and compliance processes to meet regulatory expectations.
  • Contribute to the design of API services that enable accounting, VAT, and financial reporting capabilities.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure strong alignment between solution design and technical implementation.
  • Participate in discovery activities, stakeholder workshops, and backlog definition to refine scope and priorities.
  • Ensure that solution designs align with broader integration and data architecture standards across the platform.
  • Provide input into compliance validation approaches and the design of reporting outputs to satisfy statutory requirements.
  • Support the mapping and configuration of local chart of accounts structures for the Spanish market.
  • Design transaction classification approaches that reflect Spanish regulatory and reporting expectations.

Essential Skills

  • Strong background in ERP and financial systems, including accounting platforms.
  • Proven experience with Spanish GAAP and local Spanish accounting standards.
  • Hands-on experience with VAT and statutory reporting requirements in Spain.
  • experience in API design, integration patterns, and microservice architectures.
  • Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into technical solution artefacts.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working across cross-functional product and engineering teams.
  • experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Practical experience of the Spanish market in the context of accounting and compliance solutions.
  • Solid understanding of data management concepts relevant to accounting and reporting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification in Accounting or a related financial discipline.
  • Degree-level qualification in Computer Science or a related technology discipline.
