Job description

Join our dynamic team as a Database Assistant and play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing our core data infrastructure. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to support database operations, enhance performance, and ensure high availability across diverse platforms. You will collaborate with experienced professionals to develop, troubleshoot, and fine-tune database systems, contributing directly to the efficiency and reliability of our data services. If you're passionate about databases, scripting, and ensuring seamless data flow, this role is perfect for you!, * Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server

  • Support database administration tasks including backups, recovery, user access management, and security protocols
  • Conduct performance tuning to optimize query execution times and overall database responsiveness
  • Develop and execute scripts using Bash (Unix shell), Shell Scripting, and other scripting languages to automate routine tasks
  • Collaborate on ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) to facilitate data integration and migration
  • Monitor high availability configurations to minimize downtime and ensure continuous database access
  • Assist in troubleshooting database issues by analyzing logs, performing diagnostics, and implementing solutions

Requirements

Do you have experience in UNIX?, * Proven experience working with SQL-based databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server

  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line tools for database management
  • Knowledge of performance tuning techniques for large-scale databases and queries
  • Hands-on experience with scripting languages like Bash or Shell Scripting for automation purposes
  • Understanding of database design principles including normalization, indexing, and schema development
  • Exposure to ETL processes and tools such as SSIS or similar data integration platforms
  • Ability to perform database backups, recovery procedures, and high availability configurations effectively
