Job description

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Student Systems Engineer for a contract-to-hire position with a client located in Lewisville, TX. The ideal candidate must have deep expertise in Ellucian Colleague SIS and Oracle Student Financial Aid systems to be considered for this role. This position will focus on building, maintaining, and integrating critical student systems in a higher education environment while ensuring compliance with federal regulations and institutional standards., * Serve as the primary technical expert for Ellucian Colleague SIS and Oracle Student Financial Aid (SFA) platforms

  • Customize and extend Colleague using UniBasic programming, user interfaces, and APIs
  • Configure, maintain, and support Oracle SFA including rules, batch processing, and compliance updates
  • Perform advanced database development using T-SQL (SQL Server) and PL/SQL (Oracle)
  • Develop stored procedures, optimize database performance, and manage data models
  • Design and build system integrations and data pipelines using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), SSIS, and REST/SOAP APIs
  • Support financial aid processing including COD, NSLDS, disbursements, and regulatory reporting
  • Ensure systems meet FERPA, Title IV, and institutional data governance requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional campus departments such as Financial Aid and Registrar offices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of enterprise application development experience, preferably in higher education
  • Deep expertise with Ellucian Colleague SIS and Oracle Student Financial Aid systems
  • Strong experience with SQL Server and Oracle database environments
  • Hands-on experience with system integrations (OIC, SSIS, REST/SOAP APIs)
  • Strong understanding of financial aid regulations (Title IV) and student information systems

Benefits & conditions

Pay Range: $65/hr - $70/hr. Hourly wage/salary may be negotiable based upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
