Job description

Capstone IT is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead enterprise-scale data engineering initiatives supporting eCommerce, customer analytics, and marketing intelligence platforms. This role will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and delivering modern cloud-based data solutions leveraging Snowflake, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, and real-time streaming technologies.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with business acumen and can partner effectively with marketing, analytics, product, and executive leadership teams to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions. This individual will play a key role in modernizing enterprise analytics capabilities and supporting omnichannel customer intelligence initiatives., * Lead enterprise data engineering initiatives across eCommerce, customer analytics, and omnichannel data environments

  • Design, develop, and optimize scalable ELT/ETL pipelines supporting enterprise analytics and reporting
  • Build and maintain high-performance Snowflake and BigQuery data architectures
  • Develop and support real-time and batch data processing solutions using cloud-native technologies and streaming platforms
  • Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, marketing teams, and executive leadership to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Deliver actionable analytics, dashboards, and executive-level reporting insights
  • Ensure data quality through governance, cleansing, transformation, integration, and validation processes
  • Drive architectural decisions related to enterprise data platforms, cloud modernization, and streaming ecosystems
  • Support BI and analytics environments utilizing tools such as Domo, Sigma, Tableau, and related visualization technologies
  • Manage offshore engineering resources and vendor relationships, including deliverables, budgeting, performance management, and capacity planning
  • Support customer behavior analytics, digital interaction analysis, and marketing attribution initiatives

Requirements

  • Real-Time Data Streaming

  • Executive Stakeholder Communication, * 15+ years of experience in data engineering, enterprise data platforms, and large-scale pipeline development
  • Hands-on expertise with Snowflake, GCP, and BigQuery
  • Strong experience designing and supporting modern cloud-native data architectures and ELT/ETL frameworks
  • Experience with real-time streaming technologies such as Kafka, NiFi, or similar platforms
  • Proven ability to deliver executive-level reporting and data-driven insights to business and marketing stakeholders
  • Experience leading offshore teams and/or managing global vendor relationships
  • Background supporting retail or eCommerce environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with BI and visualization tools including Domo, Sigma, Tableau, or similar platforms
  • Experience supporting customer data platforms (CDP) and omnichannel analytics initiatives
  • Strong understanding of Google Analytics, customer analytics, and marketing attribution data models
  • Experience with advanced cloud-native data services and enterprise streaming ecosystems
