Job description

Our nonprofit and advocacy client in Washington, DC is looking for a Network Administrator & System Architect to join their team full time starting as soon as possible.

In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be able to work onsite 5 days a week in Washington, DC.

As the Network Administrator & System Architect, you will be working under the Director of Information Technology and within the IT team made up of 5 other people. The Network Administrator & System Architect will be supporting and managing the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable network performance, system security, and day-to-day operations across all offices.

The Network Administrator & System Architect will be responsible for:

  • Managing and maintaining network infrastructure (LAN/WAN), including routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Administering Microsoft environments and core systems
  • Supporting and maintaining VolP phone systems
  • Monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving network performance and reliability
  • Implementing and maintaining security, backups, and system updates
  • Assisting with infrastructure upgrades, documentation, and user support

Requirements

2+ years of experience with Microsoft systems and network administration

  • Hands on experience with routers and switches (Cisco & Palo Alto preferred)
  • Experience supporting phone systems
  • Basic knowledge of network security and troubleshooting

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
