Job description
We are seeking an IT Specialist to join our team full-time in our Farmington Hills office. This is a front-line support role serving approximately 200 end users across our portfolio of residential communities and corporate office. You will be the first point of contact for business software support, user account administration, onboarding, and day-to-day technology assistance. You'll be trained directly by our current IT Specialist, who is transitioning into a network and infrastructure role within the department. This provides a unique opportunity to learn from someone with firsthand knowledge of both the position and the company. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, communicates clearly, enjoys helping people solve problems, and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service. You do not need to be deeply technical on day one. We are looking for someone who is sharp, coachable, dependable, and eager to learn. Location & Schedule
- Full-time, in-office position
- Based in Farmington Hills, Michigan
- Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- No after-hours or on-call responsibilities
What You'll Do
- Serve as Tier 1 support for Yardi and other business-critical software systems, assisting property managers, leasing teams, maintenance staff, and corporate users
- Support approximately 200 end users across 19 residential communities and the corporate office
- Troubleshoot and support company business software applications
- Provide basic support for Windows PCs, printers, and office technology
- Assist with phone system support and troubleshooting
- Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts and permissions
- Administer user accounts within Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for employees
- Lead new hire IT onboarding, including account setup and orientation to company systems and resources
- Track issues through resolution and maintain communication with end users throughout the support process
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems, procedures, and support activities
Systems & Tools You will work with a variety of business and infrastructure systems, including:
- Yardi Property Management Software
- Microsoft 365
- Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
- Windows workstations and peripherals
- VoIP phone systems
- Printers and multifunction devices
- UniFi networking equipment
- UniFi camera and physical security systems, * Users receive timely, professional, and effective support
- New employees are fully equipped and productive on their first day
- Support requests are documented, tracked, and resolved efficiently
- Staff are able to effectively utilize Yardi and company technology systems
- Technology issues are addressed proactively and communicated clearly
Requirements
Do you have experience in SQL databases?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset
- Patience and professionalism when working with users of all technical comfort levels
- Ability to learn new software platforms and business systems quickly
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to take ownership of support requests and follow them through to resolution
- Comfortable troubleshooting technology issues in a structured environment
- Reliable, dependable, and willing to learn
- Ability to work full-time in our Farmington Hills office
Experience That Is a Plus
- Previous help desk, desktop support, customer service, or technical support experience
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration
- Experience with Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID
- Experience within the property management, real estate, or multifamily housing industry
- Experience with Yardi, RealPage, Entrata, or other property management software platforms
- Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
