Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Avaya Communications Manager (CM) Engineer to join our dynamic IT and telecommunications team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Avaya Communication Manager systems to ensure seamless voice communication services across our organization. Your expertise will support our network infrastructure, enhance system reliability, and optimize telecommunication operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the stability and efficiency of our enterprise communication systems., * Install, configure, and support Avaya Communication Manager (CM) systems, ensuring optimal performance and high availability.
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching of Avaya telephony infrastructure to maintain system integrity.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to voice over IP (VoIP), routing protocols, and network security affecting Avaya systems.
- Collaborate with network engineering teams to integrate Avaya solutions with LAN/WAN infrastructure, including Cisco routers, switches, Meraki devices, and MPLS networks.
- Manage system backups, disaster recovery plans, and perform vulnerability assessments to safeguard communication networks.
- Monitor system performance using tools like SolarWinds and Splunk; implement improvements to enhance reliability and security.
- Support network installation projects involving telecommunication hardware such as Cisco ASA firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and SAN storage solutions.
- Document configurations, procedures, and incident reports adhering to ITIL best practices for efficient system management.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows support?, * Proven experience with Avaya Communication Manager (CM) administration in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and network security protocols such as IPsec and SSL/TLS.
- Hands-on experience with WAN technologies (MPLS), LAN switching (Cisco switches), firewalls (Cisco ASA), VPN setup, and SD-WAN solutions like Meraki or openSUSE-based systems.
- Familiarity with operating systems including Windows Server, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS), Debian, BSD variants; experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Citrix is a plus.
- Ability to perform system administration tasks involving LDAP/Active Directory integration, GPO management, scripting (PowerShell/Bash), and automation tools like Ansible.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles related to AWS or Azure environments; experience with high availability configurations is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work in an Agile environment supporting network support and network management functions.
