This role plays a critical part in keeping APS's technology reliable, scalable, and ready for the future. As an IT Solutions Engineer / Analyst III, you'll design, build, and support software, data, and AI-enabled systems that power essential energy operations and customer-facing platforms. With growing demand for intelligent digital solutions, this role leverages Artificial Intelligence agent development (including Copilot Studio), SQL expertise, and Python/object-oriented programming to strengthen system performance, improve reliability, and support clean energy initiatives that directly benefit the communities we serve across Arizona.
As a self-starter who is outcome-driven and collaborative, you'll partner across teams to deliver practical, high-impact solutions that move the business forward.
What Your Day Would Be Like:

Designing, developing, and enhancing full-stack and AI-enabled solutions that support mission-critical energy operations and self-service platforms

Building, maintaining, and troubleshooting applications using Python, SQL, and object-oriented programming principles to improve system performance, scalability, and reliability

Developing and supporting AI agents and automation solutions, including work in Copilot Studio, to improve efficiency and user experience

Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver modern, outcome-focused solutions aligned with business needs

Supporting mobile and web platforms through continuous improvement and end-to-end production lifecycle support, 1) Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for enhancements and new products and/or in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms

Analyzes and assists with creating reusable and enterprise-level modules/applications

Conducts performance reviews and recommends improvements to existing codes

Reviews and recommends equipment, resources and software

Recommends changes in development, maintenance and system standards.

Trains users in conversion and implementation of system

Conduct integration system testing and evaluations

Leads the design, development and implementation of new solutions

Requirements

Experience developing and supporting full-stack applications with strong Python and object-oriented programming skills

Structured Query Language (SQL) expertise for working with data-driven applications and systems

Knowledge of or experience with Artificial Intelligence agent development, including tools such as Copilot Studio

Familiarity with modern frameworks, tools, and environments (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Spring Boot, Angular, React, Django, CI/CD pipelines)

Ability to troubleshoot complex system and application issues in Linux and Windows environments

A self-starter and collaborative problem-solver who is outcome-driven, values reliability, and is motivated by real-world impact
Minimum Requirements
IT Solutions Engineer / Analyst III

Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field

PLUS five (5) years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.

Requires strong technical knowledge within a job area or system and basic knowledge across related technical areas
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:

Knowledge of multiple programming languages, database management systems and development platforms
