Job description

Kforce has a client in Maryland Heights, MO that is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to support the modernization and migration of a large-scale customer-facing email platform from on-premises infrastructure to AWS.

Build and maintain deployment frameworks for AWS services including:

  • Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service)
  • Amazon EC2
  • Amazon EBS Storage, * Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise applications
  • Develop and enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform
  • Support migration efforts of customer-facing applications from on-premises environments into AWS
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform, and related DevOps tooling
  • Collaborate with application development teams to understand deployment requirements and troubleshoot application-related issues
  • Support containerized workloads and Kubernetes-based deployments
  • Implement deployment automation, configuration management, and operational best practices
  • Assist with security integration and automation efforts within deployment pipelines
  • Partner with infrastructure, storage, Unix, and application teams to ensure successful platform delivery
  • Support deployment and integration activities associated with Openwave messaging/email platform technologies
  • Contribute to framework development and deployment automation initiatives leveraging AI-enabled tools and capabilities
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve cloud infrastructure and application deployment issues

Requirements

  • 5+ years of DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
  • Advanced experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong experience with Jenkins and/or GitLab CI/CD
  • Experience supporting cloud-hosted applications and production environments
  • Understanding of Kubernetes architecture and container orchestration
  • Experience with source control systems and Git-based workflows
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with infrastructure, operations, application, and development teams

Experience deploying and supporting:

  • Amazon EKS
  • Amazon EC2
  • Amazon EBS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation
  • Experience supporting email, messaging, or communication platforms
  • Experience with Openwave or similar messaging/email technologies
  • Software development background with scripting and automation experience
  • Experience supporting AI-enabled deployment, automation, or operational tooling
  • Familiarity with cloud migration initiatives and modernization programs
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale customer-facing applications
  • Knowledge of security controls and compliance requirements within cloud environments

The ideal candidate will possess strong AWS cloud experience, expertise with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines, and a solid understanding of application deployment and support within cloud-native environments. Experience working with containerized applications, AI-enabled deployment processes, and DevOps automation tools is highly desired.

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
