Job description
We are seeking cleared Senior Systems Engineers to engineer, administer, monitor, secure, troubleshoot, and modernize enterprise infrastructure supporting classified and sensitive law enforcement, national security, and criminal justice missions within the National Security Business Unit. The Senior Systems Engineer will serve as a senior technical lead for system availability, performance, patching, configuration management, documentation, operational readiness, incident response, disaster recovery, and lifecycle sustainment across server, virtualization, storage, backup, endpoint, collaboration, and desktop infrastructure services.
The Senior Systems Engineer will support secure enterprise infrastructure operations for classified and sensitive environments serving law enforcement, national security, and criminal justice missions. This role is responsible for engineering, administration, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and modernization of server, virtualization, storage, backup, endpoint, collaboration, and desktop infrastructure services.
The Senior Systems Engineer will also mentor technical staff and support National Security Business Unit growth by identifying opportunities to improve availability, automate operations, reduce risk, modernize platforms, and expand mission infrastructure support. Responsibilities
- Engineer, administer, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise systems and infrastructure.
- Support Windows, Linux, virtualization, VDI, storage, backup, endpoint, collaboration, and enterprise application platforms.
- Maintain system availability, performance, patching, configuration baselines, and operational readiness.
- Validate system changes, patches, upgrades, and configuration updates before production implementation.
- Create and maintain system documentation, logical and physical diagrams, SOPs, and operational procedures.
- Support disaster recovery, continuity planning, backup validation, and restoration activities.
- Resolve escalated technical issues and conduct root-cause analysis and after-action reviews.
- Mentor system administrators, endpoint support staff, infrastructure engineers, and cross-functional technical personnel.
- Identify automation, modernization, resiliency, risk-reduction, and service expansion opportunities.
Salary Range: $130,000 - $145,000
Requirements
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; TS/SCI preferred.
- 6+ years of systems engineering or systems administration experience.
- Experience with Windows Server, Linux, virtualization, storage, backup, patching, monitoring, and secure configuration.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, change management, and ITSM skills.
- Experience supporting mission-critical systems with high availability and operational performance requirements.
- Ability to collaborate across infrastructure, cybersecurity, network, application, and service management teams.
Desired Skills
- Security+, Microsoft, VMware, Linux, cloud, storage, database, or related certification.
- Experience with VMware, Citrix/VDI, BigFix, Splunk, ServiceNow, Cohesity, NetApp, Exchange, SQL, or enterprise monitoring tools.
- Experience supporting classified, law enforcement, national security, criminal justice, defense, or intelligence environments.
- Experience leading technical working sessions, mentoring staff, and supporting account growth initiatives.
