# Delivering a Successful Tech Demo: The Steps to Follow

Let's be honest. Doing a demo during a meeting or a presentation is tricky. What's more, we have all seen those fail every now and then, right? So how do you prepare yourself for such a moment? What do you do to make sure that your demo will not just work but will also communicate your point effectively? This session that's also full of demos itself (ha!) is all about that. We will look at the most important things you need to do before it's demo time. From some fundamental and often underestimated settings on OS level to useful but free tools and even some advanced techniques when demoing a piece of code in a terminal or an IDE. Get ready to see how small things can make all the difference. More importantly, get ready to see things you will then not be able to unsee.
