You need to understand the whole system, all connections, and how the microservices interconnect. With tracing you get a map of everything which makes your whole system easier to understand. I want to showcase traditional test-driven development vs the new observability-driven development. I'll use open-source tools like Tracetest and OpenTelemetry to showcase how to use trace-based testing and enrich integration tests with trace data. ## Speaker ### [Adnan](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/@adnan) Senior Developer Advocate at Tracetest.io. ## Related talks at this congress - [Startup Presentation: OpenTelemetry-native: The future of Observability](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2024/sessions/137-startup-presentation) — Marcel Sim - [Observability and instrumentation via OpenTelemetry](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2024/sessions/422-observability-and) — Karl Johan Grahn - [The Pragmatic Guide to Crafting Observable Serverless Apps](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2024/sessions/257-the-pragmatic-guide) — Adnan - [Startup Presentation: Why Netdata: The Power of Distributed Monitoring](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2024/sessions/336-startup-presentation) — Satyadeep Ashwathnarayana
