With Green Coding, we try to reduce the impact of our software on the climate as much as possible. And that's great! But is the effort really worth the few kilos of carbon saved? Can we even reduce the footprint enough to make a significant difference? Why don't we think differently? Let's talk about the handprint instead! It's about what other options we developers have to make a difference, other than just spending hours tweaking our code. There's more to it than you might think! ## Speaker ### [Carsten Windler](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/@carsten-windler) Principal Engineer @ Plan A ## Related talks at this congress - [Key strategies to decarbonize software](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2024/sessions/74-key-strategies-to) — Aydin Mir Mohammadi - [Minimising the Carbon Footprint of Workloads](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2024/sessions/222-minimising-the) — Michael Mueller - [Times of (climate) crisis - How and why sustainable software is a must!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2024/sessions/227-times-of-climate) — Hendrik Lösch - [Sleek, Swift, and Sustainable: Optimizations every web developer should consider](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2024/sessions/49-sleek-swift-and) — Andreas Taranetz
