This can lead to wrong guesses about how long things will take, using resources in the wrong way, missing important steps in the project, and not thinking ahead about how things might change later. If we don't deal with these issues, it can hurt how good, fast, and easy to keep up the tech thing we're making will be. Let's talk about why making a technical design is really important when you're developing a new feature. Technical design helps break down and organize the different steps of creating software. It guides programmers on what to do next and shows how all the pieces of code are connected. It's like a map that makes sure we think about all the limits and rules, so we can do things efficiently and make the software high-quality. ## Speaker ### [Angelika Shvets](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/@angelika-shvets) Software Engineer, NanoLock Security ## Related talks at this congress - [5 tips to know before building a design system](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2024/sessions/81-5-tips-to-know) — Dani Coll - [Specifications as the better way of software development](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2024/sessions/197-specifications-as) — Artem Manchenkov - [Bridging the gap between design and development](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2024/sessions/452-bridging-the-gap) — Jade Jiang, Noga Mann - [The Lifehacker's Guide to Software Architecture](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2024/sessions/269-the-lifehacker-s) — Julian Lang
