Design thinking is frequently fragmented, with limited focus on the broader user experience. He will demonstrate how even well-intentioned plans can unintentionally create user confusion, using real-world user testing examples. Martin will also outline practical strategies for fostering a design-driven culture, including user testing, public charters, and contribution standards—helping open-source communities adopt modern design thinking effectively. ## Speaker ### [Martin Keary](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/@martin-keary) Head of Software, Muse Group ## Related talks at this congress - [How Average Developers Can Become Great Digital Designers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/653-how-average) — Stan Bühne - [What Makes Open Source Work: Licensing and Beyond](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/733-what-makes-open) — Peter Zaitsev - [Harnessing the Power of Open Source's Newest Technologies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/868-harnessing-the-power) — Francisco Carneiro - [Why (most) software projects fail silently...](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/669-why-most-software) — Hendrik Lösch
