Temporal is an open source Durable Execution platform that enables you to build scalable distributed applications that can overcome service outages, software defects, and even hardware failures. During this hands-on workshop, which requires no prior knowledge of Temporal, you'll learn the basics of Temporal application development using the Go programming language. You'll begin by learning key concepts, continue by writing code that uses Temporal's core APIs, and finish by observing how your application handles common failure scenarios at runtime. ## Speaker ### [Tom Wheeler](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/@tom-wheeler) Principal Curriculum Developer and Developer Advocate @ Temporal Technologies ## Related talks at this congress - [Building Systems that Last](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/754-building-systems) — Werner Vogels - [Code Red: When Your Tools Turn Against You ](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/510-code-red-when-your) — Aaron Bray, Julian Totzek-Hallhuber - [Why (most) software projects fail silently...](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/669-why-most-software) — Hendrik Lösch - [High-quality software development](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/654-high-quality) — David Tielke
