Studies show that after middle school most students have already made up their mind about a career in computers, so having a positive introduction to computers at a young age is really important. I teach workshops for underprivileged kids around the world at events like CNCF Kids Day and want programming to be fun and engaging just like how I learned to program. I will share some of the techniques I use to get kids excited about technology, which you can use to teach your own kids or others. ## Speaker ### [Cassandra Chin](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/@cassandra-chin) Book Author, Keynote Speaker, Podcast Host, DEI Intern, Computer Science Student ## Related talks at this congress - [Code meets Culture: Engineering the Future of Hiring](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/806-code-meets-culture) — Sophie Okonkwo - [Finding Your Way in Tech](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/712-finding-your-way-in) — Francesco Ciulla - [Technical Diversity 101 - Become a better engineer](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/567-technical-diversity) — Artem Manchenkov - [10 commandments for vibe coding](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/743-10-commandments-for) — YK Sugi
