Over the past three years, Docker’s User Research team has conducted an industry-wide survey capturing the evolving experiences, challenges, and trends in application development. Based on insights from thousands of developers, this talk explores key shifts in tooling preferences, working culture, and emerging technologies shaping the industry. We’ll highlight patterns in developer workflows, the impact of containerisation, and how attitudes toward trends like shifted-left security and AI-driven development are changing the application development landscape. Attendees will gain a unique, data-driven perspective on where the industry is headed and the future of software development.
