It is our duty as software developers to utilize our knowledge and position to reduce these emissions. This workshop is a deep dive into the Green Software. After a detailed introduction to the principles and design patterns, you will be provided with a selection of tools and SDKs to implement these practices. Specific examples will be used to show how the energy consumption of applications can be measured in different environments. In this interactive workshop, participants will learn how to optimize their own applications. This includes dynamic scaling and hosting or how load can be shifted to a point in time when there is a lot of renewable energy in the power grid. Based on the interests of those present, strategies can be found to transform your own applications. A reduction of 40% is realistic in most cases. At the end of the workshop, everyone should be ready to start developing green software. ## Speaker ### [Aydin Mir Mohammadi](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/@aydin-mir-mohammadi) software architect & cto at bluehands, community enthusiast ## Related talks at this congress - [A Hitchhiker's Guide to Resource Efficient Software](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/841-a-hitchhiker-s-guide) — Hendrik Lösch - [Code Red: When Your Tools Turn Against You ](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/510-code-red-when-your) — Aaron Bray, Julian Totzek-Hallhuber - [Scaling LLM Applications on Arm: Optimize for Performance and Cost in the Cloud](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/508-scaling-llm) — Avin Zarlez - [Fighting the musts and must-haves on the road to technical sanity](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2025/sessions/804-fighting-the-musts) — Adnan Pavlovic, Tomislav Tipurić
