# ChatGPT Apps: From Chat to Checkout

## Description

ChatGPT apps are no longer just conversational interfaces. With MCP, agents can already discover tools and take action across real systems. The next step is enabling them to transact. Moving naturally from chat to checkout inside the same flow.

This session explores how AI commerce is emerging inside ChatGPT apps and agent workflows, and what this unlocks for businesses building on MCP. Instead of focusing on protocols in isolation, we look at how different commerce approaches fit together and where they create the most value.

We’ll cover:
 • How ChatGPT apps become lightweight storefronts for tools, APIs, and services
 • What “instant checkout” means when the customer is an AI agent
 • How MCP enables agents to discover, evaluate, and use paid capabilities
 • New pricing models such as pay-per-use, pay-per-action, and context-based pricing

We’ll also look at complementary payment approaches shaping agent commerce today:
 • Agentic Commerce Protocols (ACP), led by OpenAI and Stripe, suited for enterprise and regulated use cases
 • x402-style payment rails that enable fast, autonomous, and usage-based transactions

Rather than choosing a single model, the focus is on when to use which approach and how each expands what products and business models are possible.
