# Remote Work Is a Revolution — Not a Perk

Remote work is often discussed as a productivity tool or an employee benefit. This talk argues something far more radical: remote work is a social revolution—comparable to the washing machine or the internet in its long-term impact on society, families, and especially women.

Drawing on real-world experience designing retreats and culture systems for remote-first companies across Europe, this session explores why remote work—despite being efficient and scalable—remains deeply uncomfortable for traditional capitalism. The reason isn’t performance. It’s power, control, and ideology.

By connecting practical People & Culture challenges with insights from social theory (Hegel, Marx, Erich Fromm, and the Frankfurt School), the talk shows how remote work reduces alienation, strengthens family bonds, and restores autonomy—while quietly subverting outdated management models based on surveillance and presence.

This is not a theoretical critique. It’s a practical roadmap for HR leaders who want to build resilient, human-centered organizations that work with society, not against it.
