Studies show that nearly 70% of meetings prevent employees from focusing on their core work, draining both energy and productivity. In today’s hybrid and remote environments, teams often default to sync-heavy rituals that consume time without adding value.

This session explores the “Async Revolution”, how adopting asynchronous-first practices, guided by Agile principles, can help teams balance focus, alignment, and agility. Drawing from real-world experience leading distributed squads, I’ll share the step-by-step transformation applied at Rocket.Chat, some Google Summer of Project initiatives & an MBA Class I taught: reducing meeting load, redesigning rituals, and reintroducing intentional sync moments where they matter most.

Attendees will leave with practical insights on how to rethink ceremonies, handle the maker vs. manager time tension, and create lightweight systems that maintain transparency and trust without sacrificing flow. Whether you are a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or team member, this talk will give you tools to experiment with async in your own context, improving delivery while creating happier, more focused teams.
