Without a solid data foundation, an agent is guessing. OpenTelemetry closes that gap: it gives us a vendor-neutral, industry-standard signal set that large language models can actually reason over. This workshop walks the full path from scratch - and without touching application code. Instrumentation is added entirely from the outside, so services are covered as they run rather than after a refactor. From there we wire it up through the OpenTelemetry Collector and ship the data to a central backend, then hand off to the agent (dash0 Agent0) and close the loop: alert fires, agent investigates, agent correlates traces, metrics and logs, and drafts a ready-to-merge PR with the fix. You will leave with a concrete blueprint for the full circle - observing, alerting, and acting autonomously - built entirely on open standards, with no code changes required to get there. ## Speakers ### [Julia Furst Morgado](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/@julia-furst-morgado) Principal Developer Relations Engineer at Dash0 ### [Raphael Manke](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/@raphael-manke) Senior Product engineer ## Related talks at this congress - [Your Agents Need Observability Before They Need Better Models](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2026-north-america/sessions/1825-your-agents-need) — Julia Furst Morgado - [Closing the Visibility Gap: Lessons from Safety Critical Agentic Systems](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2026-north-america/sessions/1408-closing-the) — Vivek Pandit - [Taming Rogue Agents: Observability-Driven Evaluation for Production Reliability](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2026-north-america/sessions/1768-taming-rogue-agents) — Anagha Rumade, Anjana Umapathy, Apoorva Jaiswal - [21 Experiments in Six Weeks: A Playbook for Improving Your AI Agent](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/events/world-congress-2026-north-america/sessions/1793-21-experiments-in) — Sofia Rest ## Watch remotely Can’t make it to San José?
