Pre-Event Setup Support

If you want to see how the event industry looks before the lights go on, join our event production team one-day before the Congress to make the final venue preparations.

Registration

You are the first face our attendees see and responsible for a fast and welcoming check-in process.

Catering

No one likes to be hungry and decaffeinated! Help our caterers provide food, drinks and unlimited amount of coffee for attendees.

Stage Support

You are the technical support for our speakers, making sure everything on stage runs smoothly and that the rooms are not overcrowded.

Speaker Support

You are responsible for our speakers, help them with everything and that they are on stage on time. No pressure though!

Information & Hospitality

You are responsible for giving guidance and assistance to our attendees as well as evangelizing WeAreDevelopers community so that attendees have the best possible experience.

Allrounder

If you cannot decide which team to choose, this is a perfect one for you. In this team, you are on-call and help where help is needed.

Workshop Rooms

You are responsible for the rooms, companies and smooth check-in of attendees in an assigned workshop.

Speaker & Partner Lounge

Help the speakers relax before their talk, make them and our partners feel comfortable. Also keep the area restricted.

Dinner & Party Support

If you are a night owl and love to organize dinners and parties, this role is perfect for you. Make the night an unforgettable one.

Team Leader

You are highly organised? Become a team leader for our event and be the main link between a team of five volunteers and the event managers.

The application deadline for WeAreDevelopers World Congress 2020 is the 26th of March 2020.

We will contact you in about three weeks after the application deadline.

Are the volunteers occupied the whole day during the event?2020-02-19T14:05:08+01:00

We try to build the schedule in a way that you work a couple of hours and then you have free time. We also try to consider the talks you want to see and so you don’t have shifts during these times.

Would there be enough time to listen to talks?2020-02-13T11:59:55+01:00

Yes, yes and yes. You will be working in shifts, so you will have time to listen to talks and check the expo area every couple of hours. Our team leaders always consider your interests.

Can I apply, if I can only attend one day?2020-02-13T12:00:02+01:00

Yes, of course. We give priority to the people who can for sure attend both days, but you can still apply. We always need helping hands ;)

I am not from Berlin. Will my expenses for travel and accommodation be covered?2020-02-13T12:02:17+01:00

We are covering drinks and food at the festival venue during the setup day and the congress days, but we do not cover travel and accommodation. We are happy to connect you with our partner hotels for discount rates. You can also connect with volunteers from Berlin to get a free sleeping place.

What meetings do I need to attend prior to the event?2020-02-13T12:00:11+01:00

A couple of weeks before the event there will be one kickoff meeting in Berlin which will be live-streamed (you do not need to be in Berlin for it). At this meeting, we will answer all open questions and you will find out in which team you will be. Before this meeting, our volunteer manager will provide you with all the relevant information per email.
