## About the Role

* Bachelor?s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
 * 3 years of experience working in a Cytogenetics clinical laboratory
 * 2 years of experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images
 * 2 year of experience in Oncology cytogenetics

Preferred Qualifications:

 * ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG)
 * 1 year or more of FISH Oncology Cytogenetics experience

Additional Job Standards:

 * Computer skills; must be able to effectively use the Internet, email, text messaging, chat applications, and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
 * Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation), is an active listener, and effectively provides balanced feedback
 * Strong patient focus
 * Effectively manages own time, conflicting priorities, self, stress, and professional development

## Description

* Perform analysis of chromosomes, which includes imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens
 * Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis
 * Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature
 * Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results
 * Perform and evaluate troubleshooting, document all corrective actions as needed
 * Comply with company policies and procedures
