Proficiency with healthcare interoperability standards including HL7 v2, C-CDA, CCD, FHIR, and USCDI. Experience validating structured clinical data and troubleshooting EHR integration issues. Ability to interpret clinical workflows and map them to data exchange requirements Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders. Knowledge of HIPAA and health information privacy/security requirements. Desired Skills: Experience supporting HIE onboarding, healthcare interoperability projects, or multi-vendor EHR environments. Experience with SQL, interface engines, or data mapping tools. Familiarity with state or federal digital health programs such as NC HIEA initiatives, Medicaid QPHE, or NCQA DAV. Experience working with rural or underserved provider settings. ## Description The NC HIEA RHT Provider EHR Support Specialist is a key technical role supporting North Carolina's Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP). This position focuses on assisting rural and underserved healthcare organizations in connecting to, and fully utilizing, NC HealthConnex, the state's health information exchange. The Specialist provides expertise in Electronic Health Records (EHRs), healthcare interoperability, clinical workflow integration, and data quality improvement to ensure providers submit accurate, standards-aligned clinical data that supports statewide care coordination and population health goals.
