## About the Role

* Bachelor?s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
 * 4 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience

Preferred Qualifications

 * 1 year or more of experience in Oncology Cytogenetics
 * 1 year or more of experience in cytogenetic analysis

 * Certified by the National Credentialing Agency (NCA) in Cytogenetics (CLSp-CG)
 * ASCP Certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG)

Additional Job Standards

 * Experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images

 * In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
 * Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
 * Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
 * Ability to work independently and within a team environment
 * Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
 * High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
 * Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
 * Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
 * Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Work From Home Requirements:

 * The candidate must have a home office space that is a dedicated room, not shared with other people, and meets HIPAA compliance.
 * The candidate must agree to have their home address added to reports of cases you analyze or report. This is a CMS requirement.
 * Wired or wireless internet at a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec is required.
 * The candidate must have the ability to work remotely effectively as required in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with a demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands., All job offers will be based on a candidate?s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

## Description

* Perform analysis of chromosomes, which includes imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens.
 * Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis.
 * Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature.
 * Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results.
 * Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
 * Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
 * Perform and evaluate troubleshooting, document all corrective actions as needed.
 * Comply with company policies and procedures.
