You will lead on the development of key reporting areas to translate stakeholder requirements into technical specifications and deliver a solution relevant to the needs of the business, either through reporting or statutory returns. You will use your existing technical and analytical skills, whilst actively developing further in the application and knowledge of SQL, data warehousing and industry leading reporting tools. Main duties and responsibilities Lead on the delivery of key areas of Business Intelligence or Statutory Returns, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of data. Work with stakeholders across the University and statutory regulators to gather detailed user requirements and translate them into appropriate reporting specifications. Set up ETL processes to develop and mature the University's Data Warehouse, using an agreed, methodical, and well-documented approach. Design and deliver key strategic dashboards and complex analysis based on business requirements, using your own initiative and expertise to provide innovative solutions to reporting challenges. Lead on the training and development of the Reporting Service to University colleagues and promote best practices in Business Intelligence. Develop and maintain an understanding of the University's corporate systems, the data held within them and the onward use of the data. Develop and maintain a specialist understanding of data rules or statutory guidance and the impact any changes have on the University's data. Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation to support robust processes, including a data dictionary, requirements documentation, and reports specifications. Support good data management in the University by identifying and highlighting data quality issues that impact on reporting, GDPR, and Business Intelligence. Monitor use and engagement of reporting, including periodic report reviews that take into account feedback and the changing needs of the University. Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.
