You're a skilled engineer first and you use AI-powered tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude) to meaningfully accelerate your workflow. You know how to leverage AI for code generation, exploration, debugging, and documentation while applying the deep technical judgment needed to evaluate, refine, and take full ownership of everything you ship. We're looking for engineers who treat AI as a force multiplier for their craft, not a substitute for it. * Startup experience. You've worked at an early-stage, product-focused company (ideally <50 people) and know how to operate with autonomy, ambiguity, and limited resources. * Strong product instincts. You think beyond the component; you consider the user journey, edge cases, accessibility, and how your work connects to business outcomes. * Bias toward action with high standards. You move quickly without cutting corners. You know when to optimize and when to ship, and you're comfortable making that call. * Pragmatic, clear thinking. You break down complex problems efficiently, make decisions with conviction, and communicate your reasoning to teammates. * Collaborative mindset. You give and receive feedback generously, elevate the people around you, and care about the team's success as much as your own., * Experience building rich text editors or real-time collaborative features (e.g., Slate, ProseMirror, Yjs, Liveblocks). * Familiarity with a regulated domain or a product where data privacy and security are first-class concerns. * Contributions to open-source projects or a track record of sharing knowledge with the broader engineering community. ## Description * Customer-centric problem solving. Deeply understand how customers use our product, then translate that understanding into intuitive, elegant frontend experiences. * Collaborative product development. Partner closely with Product and Design to shape what gets built. You'll have a seat at the table from ideation through delivery. * Real-time, collaborative editing. Architect and build a rich document editor with multiplayer collaboration features (think CRDTs, presence indicators, conflict resolution) that feels seamless at scale. * High-quality frontend code. Write performant, well-tested TypeScript and React that your teammates (and your future self) will thank you for. We value readability, maintainability, and thoughtful abstractions. * Technical direction. Drive software design decisions on your projects, managing conceptual and technical complexity so the codebase stays healthy as the product grows. * Continuous delivery of value. Balance speed with quality. Ship iteratively, measure impact, and refine based on real-world usage. ## Related Videos - [WeAreDevelopers LIVE – AI, Freelancing, Keeping Up with Tech and More](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1786-wearedevelopers-live-ai-freelancing-keeping-up-with-tech-and-more) - [Leapter: The Reinvention of Software Development?
