Our portfolio spans ISR data pipelines, autonomous platform integration, and the underlying Kubernetes runtime that makes any of it deployable in the real world. This role leads an engineering team of up to 8 engineers on a new effort growing out of an established program. You will own the technical direction end-to-end, including architecture, delivery, customer e nga gement, and the people doing the work. This is a hands-on lead role with the expectation to also be in the codebase. What You'll Do: * Lead architecture and delivery for an edge sof t war e product line from prototype through fielded capability. * Build and maintain Go services that operate in disconnected and intermittently connected environments. * Design Kubernetes-native systems, including workload architecture, Helm chart authoring, custom controllers or operators where war ranted, and clean separation between platform and application concerns. * Own the Kubernetes runtime story, including K3S on edge hard war e, image distribution into air-gapped enclaves, GPU scheduling, and read-only root filesystems. * Establish and maintain CI / CD pipelines such as GitLab CI or GitHub Actions, that produce signed, scanned, and reproducible artifacts. * Integrate with tactical data standards such as Cursor on Target or TAK, and ISR sensor pipelines. * Mentor engineers, set technical standards, and run code review with a high bar. * Interface directly with the customer to translate operator needs into technical requirements and back again. * Support proposal and capture work for follow-on scope. ## Related Videos - [From Factory Floor to Kubernetes Core: Building an Edge Platform One Step at a Time](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1415-from-factory-floor-to-kubernetes-core-building-an-edge-platform-one-step-at-a-time) - [Innovating Developer Tools with AI: Insights from GitHub Next](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1268-innovating-developer-tools-with-ai-insights-from-github-next) - [Docker network without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1418-docker-network-without-docker) - [Remote Driving on Plant Grounds with State-of-the-Art Cloud Technologies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/251-remote-driving-on-plant-grounds-with-state-of-the-art-cloud-technologies) - [Docker exec without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1094-docker-exec-without-docker) - [Bringing AI Model Testing and Prompt Management to Your Codebase with GitHub Models](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1536-bringing-ai-model-testing-and-prompt-management-to-your-codebase-with-github-models) ## Related Articles - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Dev Digest 129 - Now that's what I call private data!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/468-dev-digest-129-now-that-s-what-i-call-private-data) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Dev Digest 131 - AI'm not sure about OSS](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/472-dev-digest-131-ai-m-not-sure-about-oss) - [Dev Digest 134 - Where pixels sing?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/477-dev-digest-134-where-pixels-sing)
