Experience: Experience in conducting outreach, liaison, training, analysis and reporting that supports intelligence analysis regarding artificial intelligence and AI-generated synthetic and augmented media; Visual Studio Code experience; experience with developing Artificial Intelligence technology; experience conducting law enforcement investigations and research. Candidate is required to pass a criminal background check. **Employee will be required to work outside of normal duty hours including weekends and holidays or on call during outages, upgrades, significant or special events and during crises or high-level investigations related to terrorism and criminal activities. **Employee works in an office environment and must be able to stand, bend, and squat; able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. as it pertains to files, supplies, personal office equipment, computers, etc. ## Description The Artificial Intelligence Threat Analyst, Maryland Artificial Intelligence & Synthetic Media Threats Task Force (MASTTF) is a full-time position located at the Maryland Coordination and Analysis Center (MCAC) within the Artificial Intelligence Threats Division, MASTTF / Threats Intelligence Branch. This position supports public safety, government, and private sector customers by identifying, creating and sharing relevant and actionable intelligence and information, through assessments, bulletins, briefings and/or investigative support. This position supports the entirety of the MCAC, by identifying, creating and sharing relevant and actionable intelligence information, briefings, and investigative support from various sources, along with assigned tasks associated with statistical terrorism intelligence data involving artificial intelligence threats. Due to the nature of the work in this position, the candidate may be required to pass a drug screening test and may be required to be able to obtain or maintain a government-issued top-secret security clearance. Candidate is required to pass a criminal background check. Key Functions/Responsibilities/Tasks Research Activities * Research, compile, organize, and analyze intelligence and information and produce assessments, bulletins, maps, charts and specialized reports to assist law enforcement, homeland security, government and private sector customers in securing and protecting persons, infrastructures or organizations * Evaluate information and intelligence products from local, regional, national and international reporting for dissemination to public safety partners * Prepare graphs, charts, maps and other illustrative products for visual presentation of data * Identify and research intelligence needs/trends/patterns related to criminal, miss/diss/mal information, activities, and organizational use of Artificial Intelligence * Assist the Director, MASTTF with the creation of policies, procedures, and protocols as necessary * Serve as an author for MASTTF Situational Awareness Bulletins, Threat Assessments, Snapshot, and other formal products * Draft documents for classification by various federal intelligence communities * Attend and conduct unclassified and classified briefings at the discretion of the Director, MASTTF * Collaborate with appropriate federal, state, local, and non-governmental entities to develop relevant key intelligence questions (KIQs) and standing information needs (SINs) for the State of Maryland. * Collect, identify, categorize, and index suspected synthetic or augmented media from allied law enforcement agencies. * Analyze synthetic and augmented media to generate investigative leads for allied law enforcement agencies. * Identify, assess, and report on emerging trends in capabilities and use of AI tools. Liaison/Outreach Activities * Collaborate with appropriate federal, state, local, and non-governmental entities to develop relevant key intelligence questions (KIQs) and standing information needs (SINs) for the State of Maryland. * Develop and maintain information sharing relationships related to artificial intelligence tools and capabilities. * Partner with other state, local and federal government agency to develop outreach, liaison, and training programs. * Develop and deliver briefings and other outreach materials supporting the mutual sharing of information and intelligence related to artificial intelligence tools and capabilities. * Attend meetings of law enforcement and first responders to ensure that the groups are informed on current/emerging threats and to encourage sharing of suspected synthetic or augmented media with the MCAC. * Develop relationships with Subject Matter Experts in the various artificial intelligence and first responder communities to support MCAC analysis.
