Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Technology Integration Specialist - **Company:** Alabama State Department of Education - **Location:** Birmingham, AL, United States - **Experience:** Experienced - **Salary:** $79,748.0 - $124,569.0 - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Microsoft Windows, Apple IOS, Google Chrome, Wide Area Networks, Distributed Learning - **Published:** July 2, 2026 - **Apply:** https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=a3fcdf6806b46ba7 ## About the Role * Bachelor's degree in education or related field. * Valid Alabama professional educator certificate. * Minimum of three (3) years successful classroom teaching experience. * Possess and maintain a valid driver's license. * Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457. * Strong leadership, organizational and project management skills. * Knowledge of infrastructure requirements and components of local and wide area networks, Internet, intranet, and distributed learning. * Expert knowledge of trends and future directions of technology related to the learning environment. * Effective interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety of people and groups. * Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to relate complex technical concepts. * Extensive experience with instructional technology with emphasis on curriculum integration * Ability to plan and implement technology-related professional development programs for school personnel. * Ability to use technology to communicate, to plan and provide instruction, to facilitate student learning, to manage data, and to produce/submit required reports, correspondence, and/or financial information. * Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance. ## Description * To provide support for all stakeholders for the integration of technology to support teaching and learning * To plan and provide professional development programs and supports that are effective in meeting the changing needs of the Jefferson County School System and its technology and instructional initiatives., * Demonstrates support for the school system, its vision, goals, and priorities. * Work collaboratively with district and school administrators, teachers, school level technology leaders, media specialists, and instructional specialists. * Communicates and collaborates with each school's technical leader and administrator in defining and establishing schedules, setting priorities, providing support/direction and dealing with technical issues as needed. * Designs, creates, and facilitates training and professional development on an ongoing basis, including virtual courses for staff and video tutorials. * Assists the leadership team at each school site with the development, implementation, and monitoring of the annual technology plan. * Assists in managing technology inventory and asset management records. * Provides information, guidance and support on social media and website presence for school technology leaders and administrators. * Coordinates parent education regarding technology integration with the local schools. * Provides basic troubleshooting of hardware and software. * Demonstrates knowledge of Windows OS, iOS, and Chrome operation systems. * Demonstrates knowledge of local, state, national, and international technology standards. * Plans collaboratively with teachers, instructional coaches, and curriculum specialists to support curriculum with technology integration. * Engages in professional growth, ongoing training, and demonstrates professional ethics and effective leadership. * Models and maintains high ethical standards. * Maintains confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters in accordance with state and federal law. * Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility. * Responds to inquiries and requests in a timely and positive manner. * Maintains and submits required reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner. * Properly cares for tools, equipment, and material resources of the school system. * Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local laws. * Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and procedures. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
